The Thang:

Conditions
30.  Cold

As Quaker has started calling these days – BIG Mondays.  The swell of PAX is large.  Pert Plus even tagged it as #problematic.  Consistently over 15ish and he’s right.  Might be time to look at another Monday option Quaker (1st F), High Interest (Weasel Shaker) and Sunshine (Nant’an).  #JustSaying…Kettlebells.  Ahem.

Last week, Bling brought it as he always does and there were 20 men to witness it.  (YHC must concede that I was not one of them since I was hacking up all sorts of stuff and took a rest day).  This week, there were 21.  Now I’m not saying that I won (again), but ya know.  21-20.

I was curious how this #weinke would go here as compared to #Warthog last week.  There are some super speedsters here.  I am glad to report it went great!!!  All men of all levels pushed themselves hard!!!

I barely made it in time for the 1 minute warning despite arriving at 0510 and getting a mile ruck in because, jokesters that they are, Bling and Jingles rucking hid my KB that I had set up for Rousey.  Found it, set it back up, make mental note to add them to a certain list I keep, and then made it back in time.

Since it was cold, and running was in the plan, we did some moseying, karaoking, high knees and butt kicks to further loosen up

The grass was wet everywhere as I discovered rucking around the AO, and I kinda like being visible from CF Blvd so people can drive by and be like, man, I wanna be part of that.  so I picked 2 lights that were probably close to 40 yards apart, for the plan to go down.  Thanks to Crankbait, we saved 5 yards as he took a spot on the wrong side of the 1st light pole!

The THANG

Round 1
20 Merkins
1/2 speed sprint to 1st pole
20 Merkins
Full sprint to 2nd pole
20 Merkins

We would mosey back as a group
Rinse and repeat with squats (holding Al Gore on the 6), and then 2-count flutters (holding 6″ on the 6)

10 count

Round 2
15 Diamond Merkins
1/2 speed to 1st pole
15 Diamond Merkins
Full sprint to 2nd pole
15 Diamond Merkins

10 count

Round 3
10 Wide arm Merkins
3/4 speed sprint to 1st pole
10 Diamond Merkins
Full sprint to 2nd pole
10 Diamond Merkins
Plank on the 6
We would mosey back as a group
Rinse and repeat with Sumo Squats (holding Al Gore on the 6), and then 25 LBC’s to work the core, but also get a little rest in (holding 6″ on the 6)

Round 4
15 CDD’s [someone said it should be 5! HA!]
3/4 speed sprint to 1st pole
15 CDD’s
Full sprint to 2nd pole
15 CDD’s
Plank on the 6
Rinse and repeat with either Lunges – 5 each leg OR 15 Jump Squats, PAX choice (holding Al Gore on the 6), and then 15 BBSU’s (holding 6″ on the 6)

Rousey – I had him who can’t run do the exercises, then bear crawl about 15 yards to a 70 lb KB, do the exercise, farmers walk the KB about 30 yards, exercise, then back.

Since we had a little more time, I had the men (attempt) to pair up and speed mattered.  They finally got it.  Race the man next to you to 1st pole, 1/2 speed cool down to 2nd, then mosey on in and plank on 6.  Some good heats here!!!  Strong work.  We had a tiny bit of time left, so plank, 5 merkins, plank, low plank, plank-a-rama, 5 merkins.  Back to start

BOM by YHC

Moleskin
– Strong work here.  Some great “races” throughout with men pushing one another.
– Nice work by Bling and Jingles getting in 6 miles of rucking to finish their #ResolutionRuck
– Billboard and YHC had a few races…that’s over 450 lbs of meat running.  Get outta the way…it’s hard to stop!
– Hamburglar tried to sneak in the back with the big guys for the race at the end.  Nice try speedster.
– Nip/Tuck in his 2nd week brought his A game and pushed very hard!
– What can anyone say about Crankbait, El Red Cardo, Skidmark, Beefsteak, Vitamin D, Buffett other than that they are fast as heck, their form is excellent, and they clearly excel at the beatdowns.  It’s a challenge to come up with things to keep them rolling.  Another alternative option that has been talked about in the past with Handy Manny but never took hold, is a more intense cardio distance/beatdown, say 4+ miles in 45 minutes rather than the “standard 1.8 average”.  Think about it.
– Rousey – I hope the modified plan for you was fun.  I brought the 70 lb KB since that’s what your bucket weighs!
– Quaker and Brown Bag had them a few friendly races going on.  Talking a little smack!
– Rubber is like a gazelle – long long strides that are effortless!  Not sure why he keeps claiming he’s “not a runner”
– Boxcar’s recent foray into rucking has clearly added some muscle to his “soccer arms”
– Humpback, Rocky Top,  Redcoat, and Texas Ranger were pushing hard the entire morning.  Great to see these guys at pretty much every workout!!
– Bling is on Q tomorrow at #TheVillage.  Try to make him feel better and get 22 men out there would ya!

Announcements
– Vitamin D –  QSource leadership development starting Thursday at #TheVillage location alongside the beatdown!
– Get with Hot Tub or Quaker for a 12 man P200 team in March!  They need HC’s!  And money actually.

Aye!
