The Thang:

High 70s and slightly humid.

Pulled into the AO at 0550 and greeted Pax as they trickled in (with one arriving during warm ups).  1 minute warning.  Welcome to F3, mission and disclaimer.  YHC then explained the format and meaning behind this morning’s WOD remembering MBPD Jacob Hancher aka F3 Hightower (EOW 10/3/2020; DOB 7/24/1997).

Warm up w/ usual suspects of exercises.

SEGMENT 1: Modified #374 Hightower WOD (his badge number was 374)

5 rounds of…

  1. 20 4-ct. SSHs.
  2. 20 4-ct. Flutter Kicks.
  3. 20 Merkins.
  4. 15 Thrusters w/ cinderblocks.
  5. And added 12 Burpees, 12 Curls and 1 lap around CFCC building.

374+ reps. of original WOD plus some extra to make it a stout circuit.

SEGMENT 2: Captain Thors.  A 1:4 ratio core circuit where we started at the top of the ladder at 10 BBSUs and 40 1-ct. American Hammers and worked down ea. Pax having a turn calling out the reps.

NMMS: Strong work today! The original Hightower WOD was already tough, but sprinkling in a few burpees, curls and light running made this segment the #crowdpleaser of the morning (as it should).  Rest easy Hightower, your family and friends from all walks of life have the watch now Sir.
