The Thang:

There has not been a workout at Waverucker for sometime. Well like the Undertaker of the 90’s and early 2000’s, Waverucker will continue to rise from the dead.

The weather was Beautiful for a midsummer day. 77° clear and calm. My weather app, WTForcast, describe the weather this way: “If you were a douchey hipster, you might say, “This weather is totes amazing.”

On August 2nd 1876, James Butler “Wild Bill” Hickok sat down at a poker table in Nuttal & Mann’s Saloon in a backwater town of Deadwood in the Dakota Territory. Wild Bill always sat facing the door when playing poker. However today that seat was already taken and the gentleman, Charles Rich, refused to change seats with Hickok. During play Jack McCall, who had lost to Hickok the day before pretty handedly, entered the saloon with a chip on his shoulder and a loaded Colt Model 1873 Action Army .45 caliber revolver in his hand. McCall shouted to Hickok “Damn you! Take that!” and shot Hickok in the back of the head at point blank range. The cards that Hickok was holding were the double 8 (clubs and spades), double aces (clubs and spades), the 5th card is not known. People have reported that 5th card being the Queen of hearts, the Queen of clubs, Jack of demands. James Butler “Wild Bill” Hickok died instantly. Jack McCall was eventually found guilty of the killing and was hung on March 1st 1877. When the cemetery that McCall was burried in, moved in 1881, his body was exhumed and the noose was found still around his neck.

8 of Spades 20 minute AMRAP: 200 meter burden carry, 5 power cleans, 5 shoulder press, 5 sandbag burpees, 5 lateral hops

A of Clubs 15-12-9: Thursters, Merkins with sandbag pull-unders, over the shoulders.

A of Spades Tobata 8 rounds, 20 seconds work, 10 seconds rest: Body weight squats, merkins, sit-ups

Jack of Demands: 15-12-9: Squat cleans, Push press
