Conditions
63.  Very nice.

Last week when I was still recovering from some IR, but wanting to stay active doing what I could within my injury restrictions, I started perusing the Exicon.  I hadn’t done that in a few years probably, taking from a zillion past Q’s of mine and others and throwing things together.  Anyhow, there were 756 exercises.  Wow.  Took a while to read and found some doozies.  Found one that I thought would be great for #WaveRucker.  A nice mix of mileage and work.

The Exicon calls em Billy Madison – Billy Madison is a 1995 American comedy film directed by Tamra Davis.  It stars, of course, Adam Sandler and many others.  The film was co-written by Sandler.  It made over $26.4 million worldwide and debuted at number one at the box office.  The film received mixed reviews from critics, but awesome reviews from the PAX!

The Exicon says: Inspired by Billy Madison’s journey through back through school, this routine involves a running (YHC made it rucking) loop and exercise per grade.  Begin with a loop (ideally single-file line leader style) to simulate the grade, followed by an exercise with 12 reps as the exam.  This concludes 1st grade (we started at Kindergarten).  Run (RUCK) the loop again, followed by the 1st grade exercise x 12 reps plus a new exercise x 12 reps.  This concludes 2nd grade (1st for us). Continue with the loop and adding an exercise each time until you’ve completed one loop and exercise combo for each of the 12 grades.  Great for mumble chatter and telling of high school victories.  Celebrate graduation with snack packs for all (When I went to school, you brought your own…sorry Valvano…next time!)

Here was our plan – the loops we did were around 1/4 mile – sometimes a little more or less depending on where I could find a light to read the weinke with my ever-failing reading vision.  I didn’t want to stay on the track the whole time, so we rucked around Market Common.  We alternated the type of rucking.  With each grade we added the exercise cumulatively.  So by the end we were going to do all 13 exercises.  Well, it was harder and took longer than expected, so we all at least got our GEDs!!!!

Blocktanamo

PAX, in a circle, hold standard 8x8x16 concrete blocks straight out in front of them while one PAX sets down his block to run inside the circle pressing down on the others blocks. The next PAX sets his block down as soon as the guy next to him is on the move. Ends when the final PAX completes his lap. Works both clockwise and counterclockwise. A modified version of a PAX favorite, Guantanamo.
