YHC likes to mix up the WO routine, but how many different ways can you do a burpee? or lift a block? (answer: Infinite) How can a Q keep the PAX engaged; wanting more; and talking about a Beatdown long after it is in the books?? Its easy! Step out of your comfort zone and do the unexpected!! If you like to run, take a break and Q the Catapult. If you like to ruck Q Hulkamania. And if you like to hang in the back, under the radar,  step up and put your name on the Q sheet . . . everyone is creative and everyone can lead! Stagnation is as much a habit as Acceleration! Like the young Kris Kringle sang in that Holiday Classic, ” Put One Foot in front of the other; And soon you’ll be walking ‘cross the floor; Put one foot in front of the other; And soon you’ll be walking out the door . . .” I think this may be The Catapults theme song. We’re all on a journey and are somewhere between the 1st step and the last so lets make all the steps in between count!

With that said YHC thought up a great work out routine for the PAX of Catapult. There would be no running but plenty of movement, everyone would get pushed, and it was easily modifiable. All YHC need was to remember how to count!!

YHC came in the main entrance of the AO and headed straight to the Large Parking Lot and set out 4 cones then drove over to the coupon pile and loaded up 8 blocks. These blocks were brought back to the Large Parking Lot and the cones & blocks were laid out in a circle to mimic the face of a clock. The cones were 3 O’Clock, 6 O’Clock, 9 O’Clock, & 12 O’Clock while the block represented the numbers in between.

As I drove to the Shovel Flag Lot there was about 4 cars in the lot: Pikachu was there, so was Chewy. Backdraft, One Call, and Bling were off to side congregating near the handicap ramp.  Maybe they were stretching prior to the beatdown, but I think they were just laying on the cement relaxing. Chewy forgot his gloves but luckily YHC had a newly laundered pair in the back of the truck. Normally my gloves (YHC now carries 3 sets) stink so bad that they would scare a skunk away, but not today!! You’re welcome Chewy! It was great seeing Pikachu back out . . . he gave YHC the nod that he was ready to go. Backdraft stated that he was still recovering from last Wednesday’s beatdown. And One Call and Bling had walked in from Plantation Lakes. Ruckless? How could that be?

YHC was excited that everyone had come out! Somewhere between the One Minute Warning and the end of SSH, Flop slipped into the COP. It was very reminiscent of the infamous “El Red Cardo Stealth Slide”, which is now part of BombSquad folk lore.

The THANG: Block Around The Clock . . .aka Blockwork Orange

All PAX formed a Plank Circle in the middle of the “clock face”. After an unspecified time all PAX would recover from the Plank and mosey with their block to each number 1-12. At each number YHC called out an exercise and PAX would do as many reps as the corresponding clock number (i.e. 5 o’Clock = 5 reps). After completing the exercise each PAX would mosey to the middle once more and plank for an unspecified time (Al Gore was  the modify for the plank).
