With the official launch of the #ElevationMonday AO looming next Monday, September 16th, I wanted to do a test run at Doug Shaw Stadium and get a feel for this portion of the new rotating AO.  This workout was geared towards Ruckers, but starting next week, they’ll be designed for everyone – come check it out!

The THANG

YHC decided to start with some you vs. you:

  • Climb all four sections of bleachers (192 stairs, about 14 flights) – with ruck
  • Immediately ruck one lap as fast as possible
  • Drop ruck and run one lap as fast as possible

Directions were to push as hard as you could for 30 minutes with a goal of completing 3 rounds.  Everyone pushed hard and sweat was pouring!

Next, we transitioned to some sandbag work.  Each PAX placed their sandbag on the near 40 yard line and then made their way to the goal line.

  • Mosey 40 yards to sandbag, perform a clean, full squat and sandbag toss.  Lunge to sandbag.  Repeat for 20 yards.  Mosey back to the goal line.
  • Mosey 60 yards to sandbag, perform clean, full squat and sandbag toss.  Toy soldier to sandbag.  Repeat for 20 yards.  Mosey back to the goal line.
  • Mosey 80 yards to sandbag, perform clean, full squat and sandbag toss.  Bear crawl to sandbag.  Repeat for 20 yards.  Mosey backwards to the goal line.

More sweat pouring!

Cool down walk half way around the track and then cut across the field back to the sandbags.  Less than 10 minutes remained, so YHC called for bear crawl sandbag drags … we’d see how far we make it.  Turns out 50 yards of bear crawl sandbag drags will just about do it at the end of a workout!

Time called!
