YHC was up late the evening prior trying to come up with some good ideas for a beatdown.  April 30th was the day General George Washington was inaugurated as the 1st President of the United States…but I don’t know my history that well and didn’t have time to get creative with it.  YHC also realized that May is around the corner which means Memorial Day Murph is also around the corner.  The Murph is a workout honoring Medal of Honor Reciepient Navy Seal Lt. Micheal P Murphy who was KIA during Operation Redwings in Afghanistan in June 2005.  Great!  Now time to modify so we can work our way up to The Murph.  The modification is probably something akin to what Micheal Murphy was doing when he was still in diapers…so we’ll call it the Mikey.

As YHC was warming up in the Supergloom, Hoser attempted to thrawt the early morning beatdown by running me down at the stoplight but luckily YHC was able to bob and weave his way out of there.  As YHC strolled up to the AO, Hoser and Karma were waiting, as well as Bubbles who just finished his early morning grocery shopping buying 1500 bananas from Walmart; Banana Splits must be big sellers this time of year!  The rest of the PAX started to stroll in at about 0525 and YHC was pleasantly surprised to see so many showing up as he know some of the #warthog regulars were Qing elsewhere today and GORUCK events are taking place this weekend.

1 Minute Warning – Well….who really needs a full minute.  Let’s get going!

Disclaimer

Warm-up – Thought the PAX needed a good stretch and some slow breathing…this may have been deceptive as to how the rest of the beatdown would go.

Mumble chatter was light today…OneCall may still be recovering from his family trip to the Ark or maybe he, Lombardi, Hoser, Geno, and Valvano are just mentally preparing for the Battle of Baghdad GORUCK events this weekend.  YHC loved seeing each one of his PAX brothers roll in today…especially Varsity…welcome back! And he was early too and pushed hard all the way through!  Shout out to Karma who is showing up and improving every post.  Flash always pushes the pace and as we were partnered up, I may have miscounted our Doras but we could use a few extra anyway. Surprised I didn’t hear Geno yell out, “I didn’t know I joined a running club”…maybe he’s warming up to a little extra mosey.  Scuba Steve and Stewie are always quietly pushing the pace and Stewie is always properly counting his reps…probably the accountant in him.  The warm-up may have been the toughest part for Bubbles because it has been noted that he is made of wood and can’t stretch but it seems that he made it through.  YHC forgot to ask Scuba Steve if he could dive to the bottom of the lake to recover the lost sunglasses of the PAX including YHC from the boat tip during the dragon boat race.  We’ll have to make that part of the beatdown next time around.

It’s always and honor to lead this Brotherhood!  Thank you for the opportunity!

Never forget!  Operation Redwings: Micheal Murphy, Danny Dietz, Matt Axelson and those brothers who perished running to save them: Eric Shane Patton, Daniel Healy, James Suh, Jacques Fontan, Erik Kristensen, Jeffrey Lucas, Michael McGreevy, Jr, Jeffrey Taylor, Shamus O. Goare, Corey Goodnature, Kip A. Jacoby, Marcus Muralles, Stephen C. Reich, Micheal Russell, Chris Scherkenbach, James Ponder.  Fair Winds and Following Seas….
