El Red Cardo

ERC, Quaker (YHC)

The Thang:

AO: BombSquad

Conditions: 56 degrees, foggy

This was the 1st  day for a BombSquad Beatdown since all AOs in the Region have been temporarily shut down due to Covid 19. As YHC drove through the thick fog the lights from the CFCC parking lot were eerily diffuse. As YHC came closer to pulling into the lot, I anticipated a lot full of cars, PAX circled up, and everyone ready to go but then remembered that only small gathering were encouraged.  YHC was happy to find El Red Cardo all alone. Yes that’s right ERC not only beat YHC to the AO but was also the 1st PAX on site. YHC pulled in right at the 5:15 mark, slipped in his contacts, and jumped out of the truck for an early morning hello from ERC.

Not only was ERC here but he brought a Wienke and a Beatdown-worthy Playlist!! We lined up on opposite sides of the parking lot (>10 apart) and this is what happened.

5:15 – No Minute Warning

5:15 – No Disclaimer Given (After all this was an unofficial Beatdown)

COP: 20 SSH IC; 15 TTT IC; 22 Merkins OYO; 5 Tony Hawk Burpees; 10 ‘Old Man’ Windmills IC; 20 Imperial Walkers IC

Remaining more than 10 feet apart the PAX moseyed to the Large Parking Lot for the main event.

Duora (2 man Dora) – PAX lined up 20 feet apart with music playing in the middle alongside the wienke. PAX #1 runs the width of the parking lot while PAX #2 does designated exercise AMRAP until PAX #1 returns, then flip/flop. . .

50 Burpees

100 Merkins

150 LBCs

200 Mountain Climbers (2ct)

250 Squats

After all exercises were completed, ERC told YHC to, “wait here, I ot something special for us but I need my car”. He then ran towards his car. As ERC ran south, YHC ran  1.5 laps around the parking lot. As YHC ran he saw ERC get into and start his car!! (YHC hoped he wasn’t leaving, HaHa). YHC thought that the 2nd half of the beatdown maybe pushing ERC’s car around the parking lot. However, when he returned, he said that we would be doing the BEEP Fit Test for the remainder of the time. YHC  after the test, YHC thinks he would have rather have had to push the car around the lot!!

The BEEP Test

2 cones were placed 20 meters apart. PAX were instructed to run from 1 cone to the next. Then on the “beep” we were to run back to the start. PAX completed 11 levels of the Beep Test. Each level became progressively faster and was divided into 10-12 increments (i.e. Level 3 had 10 increments & level 11 had 12 increments). ERC had little problem keeping up with the designated Beeps, YHC made it halfway through Level 11 before falling behind in the Beep Count. Great push by all.

6:00 – Time Called

Count-o-Rama = 2
