AO: Warthog (The Mothership)

Conditions: Clear 51 degrees.

It’s my birthday so of course I wanted to celebrate by Q’ing at #TheMothership #Warthog!  Somehow, some momentum started and we had 1 #FNG HC, then 2 and then 3 and then a #Kotter.  On top of Disconnect’s, EH with #Fergie earlier this week and #DawgPound recently joining the PAX, this was exciting!  Plant, GROW, and Serve.

Weather was looking good and those of us training for the marathon needed to get some mileage in so the time was set for a 0515 pre-run.  Knowing that not all PAX are in training mode and #Warthog having many routes that can loop back to the AO easily, I opened this up to any PAX to meet at their chosen time in which we would circle back around. TexasRanger, #TheVillage AOQ, HC’d for 0600 and Rousey, Catapult AOQ, HC’d for an 0600 pre-ruck.  Hamburglar, #BeachBells AOQ and I started at 0515 and got just under 5 miles in before picking up Texas Ranger and before we left, Rousey decided to join us instead of rucking so this AOQ gang ran off into the gloom on a path along Farrow then left on Myers that would allow PAX to easily head back to the AO.  Rousey got about 1.5 miles in, then Texas Ranger, Hamburglar and I looped through Seagate Village to Kings Highway where we saw 2 #SaltyGears PAX, Franklin and Billboard riding straight towards us as they got their 17 miles in listening to “How Deep is Your Love” the entire way.  Since it was dark and all we could see were headlamps, we weren’t sure it was them until we hear the #HootieHoo call from Franklin!  It’s always awesome to run into our brothers out in the gloom!  We got to Farrow, ran back near GrandLake and back down Myers to circle back to the AO to get the final mile in for a total of just over 10 for the day.  Got back to the AO just in time to start and saw a bunch of PAX waiting including 1 FNG soon to be named XYZ. The #SaltyGears PAX with their 17 miles and pre-Rucker’s, OneCall and Bling with 5 miles all made it back in time too! Our second FNG, Rudy, showed up about right at 0700 so I made the call to wait on him to get started.  FNG #3 sent me a text yesterday about not being able to make it after all but HC’d for Tuesday.  Our Kotter was MIA but sent Franklin a text after the workout…at least he was thinking of us.

Time to roll!  Let’s go!

Past the 1 minute warning.

Name-O-Rama

Name FNGs:

Sam – Decided to play club football at UNC and become a punching bag for the official college team, so his name will be Rudy.

Mike – works for ABC Supply, so his name will be XYZ.

AOQ Note: These are great names, the PAX were feeling generous.  Names can be a lot worse!

Announcements – AOQ handoff at BombSquad on Monday.  Q sheets are open as well, get on them.   CSAUPs coming up including the Myrtle Beach Marathon with Hamburglar, Bubbles and YHC.  Franklin is training but will be DR that day so maybe another will be coming up.  Billboard looking for others wanting to join in the Adventure Race.  Texas Ranger and Karma told of what F3 has meant for them over the last year.  OneCall had me recite the mission of F3: To plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.

Prayers – Spoken and Unspoken

Moleskin:

I have no words for the great feeling of working out with my F3 Brothers on my birthday today. Thank you all for coming out! I am blessed to have found F3 and all of you out in the gloom.   Big Welcome to our FNGs, Rudy and XYZ!  I know I speak for the PAX when I say, we are glad and excited to have you post with us!   We look forward to seeing you out next week as well. Great job by Franklin for his EHing.  He had a hand in both!  Extra thank you to our pre-running PAX, Hamburglar, TexasRanger and Rousey!  I would love to see these pre-runs become more regular at Warthog.  A big Thank You to those nursing injuries that came out anyway, those that don’t normally post at Warthog and to our Warthog regulars!  Seriously, enjoyed working out with each and everyone of you this morning.  SYITG!
