The Thang:

Conditions: Unseasonably warm 68 degrees, but SC weather is now being known to have all 4 seasons in a week’s time!

YHC/QIC’s second Q at #Waverucker (WR).  The veteran Pax here have consistently led some awesome workouts that have often smoked YHC (even before time was called!) combined with the strong comradery a group can only forge through suffering together. Wednesday’s barring work conflicts on YHC’s workout schedule are earmarked for WR (wheels up at 0430)…that means this old man goes to bed early on Tuesday night drawing scoffs and ridicule from his M and 2.os.

Most of our regular QICs were “out” this morning. Some resting up for their Bragg GORUCK HEAVY this weekend (a brutal GR event…basically a 24-hour arse whoopin) and one had the flu (also considered a whoopin, but it wasn’t his choice nor did he pay good money for it). We did have Lombardi w/ us – a seasoned rucker – who YHC has found out has a legit DFrigginQ mode behind that gregarious demeanor. QIC decided conceptually on a “distance” workout and the plan was to ruck apx. 4 miles w/ a sandbag (to keep us honest) and if time some round robin PT.

4 #HIM showed up at Forbus Court — Market Commons.  1 60# lb. sandbag provided.  YHC notices that all Pax this morning are vertically challenged wondering if the occasional onlooker will think it’s a gang of young ruffians in military garb and quickly (and probably excitedly) fire up their “Nextdoor” app and report us. One-minute warning, welcome to F3, abbreviated disclaimer, and we got to work…

SEGMENT 1: 4-mile ruck. Pax headed out with their destination to Hwy. 17 (by the Walmart) and then return to COT. The crew rotated the sandbag at 1/8th/1/4th mile mark.  This actually proved to be deceptively hard for the carrier as he would try to keep pace with the other 3. Disconnect who was next in line to carry the bag after YHC often had to catch us up w/ the rest of the group due to my incendiary pace (not). Great job Sir!

SEGMENT 2 (back at COT): Round Robin PT. 2 rounds whereby each Pax lead (twice) a (very fair) ruck exercise creating the very beneficial muscle confusion. All exercises were tough, but manageable. But there is always one Pax who likes to prove a point regarding their tough guy level (I guess his duty as an AOQ) and call out hard stuff especially on the very last exercise (ruck get ups) – LOL. 2 rounds was just enough factoring in our ruck.
