YHC was up early this morning loading a BIG clock (radius=10 feet) with a circumference 63 feet into the bed of his truck (it barely fit . . . lots of tie-down straps). The night before, YHC also ‘borrowed’ 8 pavers from BombSquad and used them to hold down the clock as he slowly drove to The Village with the flashers on at 4:40 this a.m. Luckily only a few other cars were on the road and there was no police in sight! When YHC arrived at The Village, the truck & clock were slowly eased through the gate, then it was driven over to the staging area away from the shovel flag in the parking lot closes to Hwy 17. This way the PAX would be surprised by the clock’s enormity and the workout would be completed with maximum visibility for early morning commuters. The clock was unloaded and carefully laid onto the blacktop with 12 o’Clock pointing West. The Pavers were stacked neatly in the back of the truck, and AC/DC radio was turned on for the ensuing beatdown.
As I walked towards the Shovel Flag Lot the minutes ticked by. At 5:10, Brown Bag pulled into the Village closely followed by Vit. D. Brown Bag looped his car around and strategically parked his ride near the Village Gate to trick it into remaining open for any fellow PAX who may sneak in during the COP.
Greeting were made with Vit. D as he inquired as to where I had parked. I let him know that I ran to the AO just to keep the PAX in a state of suspense. #HeDidntBuyIt. I told Brown Bag the same spiel. #HeDidntBuyItEither. The 1-minute warning was given. Usually there is a flurry of activity as PAX race in just under the starting bell, but not today! A 30-second warning was then given to no avail! It was just the 3 of us. Great! Let’s get to work.
