The Village Hustle

Workout Date:

Mudlside, Handy Manny, Bluegrass, Whittle, High Interest, Boxcar, Elredcarrrrrdo, Red Coat, Rubber, Crankbait, Flyover, Sunshine, Mudsline, Buffet, HoeDown (QIC)

The Thang:

Pre-ramble: It’s summer time on the GrandStrand which means at least two things: a. copious amounts of crack sweat and b. HoeDown has more freedom to travelQ while the M and 2.0’s embrace the #fartsack. Therefore, I am thankful that High Interest was willing to hand off the Q for today’s #beatdown in the Village. Being that this was my first Q and post at the Village, I was as giddy as a school girl last night. I went to sleep with visions of tractor tires and grass stains dancing in my head. Shortly after the 03:50 alarm sounded, YHC had the gaswagon in the wind for the long trek from the Farmplace to east of the waterway. Here’s what happened upon arrival.

The Pre-Run:

7 Pax departed from the Village AO parking lot at 04:50 and headed west toward the Hulk. These Pax include Bluegrass, Buffett, Mudlside, High Interest, HoeDown, Handy Manny, and Boxcar.  We caught our breath at the apex (the Hulk Parking Lot) while awaiting Sunshine who joined us for the trip back east. With Sunshine and #theVillage #shovelflag unfurled we commenced another bridge crossing.  The jaunt was somewhere in the neighborhood of a 3 mile round trip= a perfect warmup lap for the beatdown to follow.

The Beatdown:

Prayer Requests/Prayer

3rdF Word of the Day

When we look at the (epistle) letter to the Colossian Church we can see that the Apostle Paul had put the EH on a guy by the name of Epaphras when he was preaching in Ephesus. Due to the EH of Paul, Epaphras went home to Colossae and started up a local AO (faith community). Thus, the letter to the Colossians was an exhortation and encouragement to a starfish church plant. Epaphras was in effect the AOQ of Colossae. The first two chapters are the outlining of the core principles and credo. Paul was combatting the synergetic influeneces of stoicism, docetism, deism, and other beliefs. He reminds them of the central message of Jesus Christ, in the flesh, fullu God, died and resurrected. He then turns to an awesome statement of the #wasnow in chapter 3 telling the Colossians that they put to death their old self (the was) and was being remade  in the image of the SkyQ (the now). YHC encourages every man to take a look at the four chapters of Colossians through the lens of what we know and understand about planting, growing and serving AO’s, exhorting the PAX, and being of constant encouragement. We should celebrate the #wasnow and continually press onward to the higher ideal of self, exemplified in the ultimate #HIM, Jesus of Nazareth.
