The Thang:

YHC figured a preruck and mothership Q was about the best possible way to kick off the big 4-0 today. In fact, Qs were lined up for most of the week (BombSquad Monday, Plank Tues, WaveRucker Wed, Catapult Thurs) until a last minute work trip derailed those plans. It also derailed any chance YHC had of closing in on 2nd place in the 1stF Challenge. I rolled in at about 0558 to find Fergie and Penelope milling about with rucks. We took off at 0600, headed down Forbus, wrapped around the lake and down to Warbird Park and back for 3.2 miles with 10 minutes to spare before the beatdown. It was an interesting ruck with a Panda sighting (he would pop up again later during our final step ups and once again during #coffeeteria at Bagel Factory) and a guy running with a Jeter-esque motion with a speaker slung crossbody playing cat noises. You can’t make this stuff up. #onlyinmarketcommon. As PAX began rolling in one tinted truck was thumping Apple Bottom Jeans and we could only hope it was Butch’s FNG – what a perfect naming opportunity. Turns out it was Butch getting pumped up for the beatdown. His FNG did show though and probably wishes he had been named Apple Bottom.
