The Goldberg and FlyOver show

The Goldberg and FlyOver show

Workout Date:

FlyOver, Goldberg (QIC) yep... that's all.

The Thang:

530AM… YHC rolls into the CFCC parking lot, finds his much anticipated Bombsquad Q playlist,  and begins unloading a Yukon load of cinder blocks.

545AM… YHC puts ” We Will Rock You” on repeat… LOUD,  begins stretching and waiting on the always great showing of #bombsquad PAX.

550AM… I begin questioning what day of the week it is, if the AO had been moved, if there was a convergence I forgot about etc…

558AM… I make a decision… I’ll do the Beatdown by myself.

559AM… I see a beacon of hope, a ray of light, an oasis in the sahara…  FLYOVER comes rolling in! In Michael Jacksons voice, I begin to sing… you are not alone, I am here with you…

600AM… Flyover and myself decide that we’re gonna PUT IN WORK! I explain to him what I was planning on doing, and just as I suspected… he was ALL IN!

605AM… We mosey over to the big parking lot, and Queen is singing loud and proud, We will rock you, for probably the 18th time in a row. I take the playlist off of repeat and hit shuffle. First song up was perfect! Aerosmith… Sweet Emotion!

Flyover grabs a block and begins doing Burpees while I ran the loop around the parking lot. We flip flopped until 50 burpees had been completed. This was followed by 100 overhead presses, 150 merkins, 200 LBCs, and 250 squats. All with block in hand, and all in a rotating fashion. This was a KILLER 25mins! We each hated it, but enjoyed it as well. Being that it was just the two of us, we also had a little more time for some fellowship. We talked about everything from kids to the Red Hot Chilly Peppers.

Next… I had UnderQuakers planned, but since its namesake (the one who came up with the exercise) wasnt present, I let FlyOver do the honors.

He then chose 100 block curls, 200 block lifts, and 300 block lunges. It was ULTIMATE!

By this time, we had given ourselves the ULTIMATE Saturday morning beatdown… all while listening to everything from Bruce Springsteen to Billy Idol, to Pearl Jam.

We moseyed back to the flag and congratulated each other on a job well done.

Announcements were made.

Prayer requests were made.

QIC then prayed us out.

It was an honor to lead, and is always special to me when I Q at #bombsquad because it always takes me back to the beginning of this journey I’m on. I’ll never forget the motivation and kind words I received early on from all of the PAX that frequent the Saturday #bombsquad beatdowns. Even though most didnt show… I still must say, Thanks to you all. Until we meet again in the gloom… STAY ULTIMATE, and GET HYPED boys!
