3 Hulkamaniacs arrived early on Sunday Morning for beautiful run over the Intercoastal Waterway. The run began with a fantastic viewing of a Sturgeon Moon which gave way to a majestic sunrise!

It all began the same way it usually begins, PAX meet in the Gloom, do some simple stretching then head down frontage road towards the Battery. We then bear left onto Colonel Robert (“Bob”) Bell Run Path which leads us up and over the bridge parallel to Robert Grissom Parkway. As we headed over the bridge it was decided that today we would not run to the beach but would take our traditional route through the neighborhoods. Our pace was quicker today as our minds knew we would only be running for 45 minutes today.

As we came down Col. Bob Bell Path, we hung a left past the dog park & the YMCA, then a right onto Claire Chapin Epps Drive. At the intersection of Claire Epps Drive and 62nd Avenue we turned left and headed back towards the waterway and then made a right onto Marina Parkway.

As we ran we were educated by Hottub concerning the alternative lifestyles of folks who live in 55 & older communities. We learned that some elder couples are still quite adventurous/amorous and like meeting new people/couples. Lets just say that if your neighbor has a large Pineapple statue on the middle of the stairs leading to the front door, it is not just a tripping hazard or a poorly placed decoration. Its more of a billboard letting others know that they are welcome to swing on in at any time and enjoy so southern hospitality! Thanks for the visual Hottub! It was also noted that some PAX are pushing this age so as community warning, be careful where you place your pineapples!!

We continued to run down Marina Pkwy past the 79th Avenue turn-about. Shortly there after, High Interest reminded us that we had passed the 23 minute mark of our run and we turned around for our return trip home.

As we neared the bridge once more we all mentally prepared for your traditional sprint to the top! Before our sprint however, “Hellos” were made to our friendly running couple that we see every morning in the Gloom. They are in great shape & are true distance runners that train daily. They are always happy to see us and are an inspiration. O yeah by the way they are definitely over 55…!!

Anyway,  we all sprinted to the top of the bridge (at different paces) and had a solid push down the other side and on into the Hulk, which was filled with early morning bikers!

Another run was in the books and we were on our way to 13.1!

Hottub prayed us out!
