Workout Date:

04/10/2021

QIC:

Quaker

PAX:

Ms Pac-man, Brown Bag, 1st Base, Hottub, Beef Steak, Buffett, Candy Cane, Pikachu, Kiwi, Quaker (QIC)

The Thang:

AO: BombSquad

Conditions: 64 degrees, dry

Not sure what the numbers today were going to look like.  There was a GrowRuck Training event and some of our regular Pax were injured or out of town. As YHC pulled into the lot, however, there was a solid group of Pax already circled up by the Shovel Flag. YHC was pleasantly surprised to see Ms. Pac-Man (#Kotter) among the group. The Pax continued to trickle in and by the start, 10 Pax had arrived and were ready to boogie!

DJ Brown Bag supplied the disco tunes. Sure, we could have gone with the tried and true AC/DC mix, but Disco would be certain to up the Mumble Chatter! The music was upbeat, fun, & different . . . besides who doesn’t love the BeeGees, Redbone, & Wild Cherry? With songs like “You Should Be Dancing”, “Come & Get Your Love”, and “Play that Funky Music” everyone would be movin’ & grove to the Beat(down) even Pikachu!

5:14 – One Minute Warning

5:15 – Proper Disclaimer

COT: 15 Hairy Rockets IC (Ms. Pac-man & Hottub gave YHC a look like WT*??); 15 TTT IC; 15 Windmills IC (low & slow) 22 Merkins IC; 15 Imperial Walkers IC; 15 Hillbillies IC; PAX cited the 5 core principles (Kotter-refresher course [KRC]); 15 LBAC IC (Pax cited the F3 Motto – KRC); 15 LBAC in Reverse (PAX recited the 3 ‘Fs’ of F3)

Mosey to the Large Parking Lot

The THANG:

Pain’t the Lines

Follow YHC as we paint the parking lot lines with the following exercises: (1) Mosey, (2) Back Pedal, (3) Karaoke to the left, (4) Karoke to the right, (5) Tin Soldier west, (6) Tin Soldier east, (7) Bearcrawl, (8) Mosey east, (9) Mosey west, (10) Back Pedal East, (11) Back Pedal west, (12) Karaoke to the left, (13) Karaoke to the right.

Now we’re warmed up!

Bear-Burpee Shuffle

Bear Crawl 2 parking Spaces then perform 1 perfect form Burpee; bearcrawl 2 more parking spaces & perform 1 perfect form burpee; etc., etc. until we got to the north side of the Large Parking Lot. .  .10 Count . . . Let’s do it again back to the start. The shuffle which once made Pax groan at its mere mention is now a walk in the park unless you’ve been absent for over a year! Ms. Pac-man continued to groan!!

Mosey to the Coupon Pile. Each Pax was instructed to grab either a Cinder Block or a Paver of their choice & deliver the coupon to the eastside of the Back parking Lot . . . Look at the Pax to your left and to your right. Is his Block bigger than your?

Remember where you are in line. . . now, mosey to the youth parking lot, then onto the football field to the 50 yd line, then back to the coupon pile. Each Pax was instructed to grab the opposite coupon they grabbed the 1st time (If you grabbed a Cinder Block the first time around, now grab a Paver or Visa-Vera) take 2nd coupon to the westside of the Back Parking Lot. Who’s lookin’ at who’s Block now??

Block Envy

Now that each Pax has a Cinder Block and a Paver (so no Pax can boast), the Pax were instructed that each Pax would have the opportunity to call out an exercise and lead the other Pax with Coupon#1 then mosey to the other side of the parking lot and lead the Pax with the same exercise with Coupon #2 (The exercise is therefore done with each coupon. Pax were instructed that each exercise had 15 maximum reps but they could chose any number of lesser reps).

Exercise #1 – Ms. Pac-Man – Curls (Ms. Pacman was rusty due to his lengthy hiatus & had difficulty counting to 15) We then moseyed across the parking lot and Ms. Pacman lead us for 15 more reps with the 2nd coupon (he was still unable to count)

Pikachu started to become impatient

Exercise #2 – Brown Bag – 15 Temp Squats at 78 RPMs (Disco Style) . . . mosey to the opposite side of the parking lot and repeat 15 reps with coupon #2

NOTE: These were the fasted Tempo Squats I can remember over the last 4 years . . . Pikachu became frustrated

Exercise #3 – 1st Base – 15 Triceps Extension . . . The counting struggles continued. . . mosey to the opposite side of the parking lot and repeat 15 reps with coupon #2

NOTE: This was the final straw for Pikachu, “Use the Number System – you know 1,2,3!!” #TheAngryElf

Exercise #4 – Quaker – 7 Blockees . . . mosey to the opposite side of the parking lot and repeat 7 burpees with coupon #2

Exercise #5 – Hottub – 15 Flutter Kick IC while holding the Coupon S-L-O-W. . . mosey to the opposite side of the parking lot and repeat 15 reps with coupon #2

NOTE: Pikachu’s rage continued! “These aren’t Flutterkicks these are Rubberkicks!! and Rubber’s not here . . .why!?” . . .Boo-Hoo

Exercise #6 – BeefSteak – 15 Bent Over Rows IC . . . mosey to the opposite side of the parking lot and repeat15 reps  with coupon #2

NOTE: BeefSteak demonstrated perfect form to protect our backs, however, just like Windmills when the cadence began our form was all over the place.

Exercise #7 – Buffett – Mosey with Coupon #1 to Youth Parking Lot and back to the beginning . . . mosey with coupon #2 to the Youth Parking Lot and back to the beginning.

NOTE: This was a nice intermission, but it didn’t seem to fit with the overall theme of the routine. P.S. nobody wanted to run away from the Disc Music (except maybe Pikachu)

Exercise #8 – Candy Cane – 15 Front Raises . . . mosey to the opposite side of the parking lot and repeat 15 reps with coupon #2

Exercise #9 – Pikachu – 15 Bus Drivers IC . . . mosey to the opposite side of the parking lot and repeat 15 reps with coupon #2

NOTE: This was payback by Pikachu for all the miscounting earlier

Exercise #10 – Kiwi – 15 Overhead Press . . . mosey to the opposite side of the parking lot and repeat 15 reps with coupon #2

Pax were instructed to return only the Pavers to the Coupon Pile, then retrieve the Cinder Blocks and line up in the grass about 25 yrds in front of the Coupon Pile

The Bunny Ranch

  1. Merkin Bunnies – def. Murder Bunny 25 yds then complete 10 Merkins on the Block
  2. Mountain Bunnies – def. Murder Bunny 25 yds then complete 10 Mountain Climbers IC on the Block
  3. Big Boy Bunnies – def. Murder Bunny 25 yds then complete 10 BBS feet in the Block

Because we were running out of time, YHC recited all the remaining “Bunnies” on my Wienke (Press Bunnies, Swing Bunnies, Hammer Bunnies, Thruster Bunnies, Burpee Bunnies, Flutter Bunnies, & Blockee Bunnies). There was general widespread dismay among the Pax. The nice guy that I am gave Ms. Pac-man the opportunity to choose the next “Bunny” . . . He chose ‘Burpee Bunnies; a real #CrowdPleaser!!

  1. Burpee Bunnies!! – def. Murder Bunny 25 yds then complete 10 Burpees on the Block
  2. Flutter Bunnies – def. Murder Bunny 25 yds then complete 10 Flutterkicks IC with the Block
  3. Murder Bunny back to the Coupon Pile and rack the Cinder Blocks. . . probably had time for Blockee Bunnies but YHC is getting nice in his old age!!
