Conditions
Misty, 62 and quickly dropping

As many know, and good handful of F3GrandStrand “ruckers” have decided to try their hand (due to YHC’s brilliance/idiocy) at the Blue Ridge Relay this coming September.  A 208 mile running(!) relay from Grayson Highlands, VA to Asheville, NC.  As such, #ElevationMonday has been featuring more running over the past few weeks and YHC decided to keep the trend going with a “rucks options” call out last night.  YHC also reached out to the ShieldLock to see if anyone was up to meeting at 0430 to touch up the spray painted yardage markers (or, as OneCall put it “badass recon ninja stuff”).  A couple HCs bounced back and a couple cans of spray paint were tossed in the truck.  No, Bling, we will not be “tagging” the underpass…

1 minute warning and disclaimer

The plan for the morning was simple, hence Lombardi’s Groundhog’s Day quip on Twitter!  We would run/ruck up and down the Hulk bridge.  Here’s how it went:

Runners (YHC, Boxcar, Bling) would run to the far side of the bridge to the “start” line and double back for ruckers (Hoser, Lombardi, OneCall, Headgear) until all 7 PAX made it to the far side.

Suicide up/down the hill (with/without ruck, PAX choice):

10 merkins, 10 jump squats
Run/Ruck to the 50 yd line and back
10 merkins, 10 jump squats
Run/Ruck to the 100 yd line and back
10 merkins, 10 jump squats
Run/Ruck to the 150 yd line and back
10 merkins, 10 jump squats
Run/Ruck to the 200 yd line and back
10 merkins, 10 jump squats
Run/Ruck to the 250 yd line and back
10 merkins, 10 jump squats
Run/Ruck to the 300 yd line and back
10 merkins, 10 jump squats
Run/Ruck to the 350 yd line and back

For those that finished early, rinse and repeat.  Headgear led the pack and made it to the 300 yd line a second time through.

With about 15 minutes remaining, we regrouped and walked back to the AO as a group leaving 3 minutes to stretch.

Total mileage for YHC was 5.9 miles.
