The Thang:

AO: Timeshare

Conditions: 40s and cold, but not too bad

Back to back Q’s sounded doable a few weeks back when I signed up, but not I’m starting to regret it. But I haven’t been to Timeshare in over two years, so it was good to get on the sheet and find the time to make my way north. I think if this First F Challenge has taught me anything its that I need to be better about intentionally going to other AOs instead of staying in my little routine and bubble. It’s easy to make excuses, but we wake up to do something hard in the mornings to push ourselves to become better men. Part of that should be accountability to our entire region. So I will definitely look to continue getting out to further AOs when this challenge is over. With all that said, I didn’t want a repeat of yesterday’s Sharknado Q where I showed up after the official start. I made sure to leave 5 min early so that I could plant a special surprise for the PAX, but even with the headstart I found myself arriving right at 0515.

0 minute warning, disclaimer given though

  • 20 SSH IC
  • 5 Burpees OYO (to the surprise of the PAX)
  • 15 TTT IC
  • 5 Burpees OYO
  • 15 Windmill IC
  • 20 IW IC

Mosey to the tennis courts in McClean Park. Great time to chat and get to know a few of the PAX

  • BBSU and Squats across the width of the two tennis courts

Mosey to the picnic tables

  • Another set of 11s on the tables: Step-ups and dips

Ring of Fire

Now for the main event: I pull out the trusty weighted jump rope that I had stashed nearby and explained the drill. Everybody circle up, each PAX would get a chance on the rope to be the counter for the rest of the group who will be holding plank while the counter is going. The counter would do 50 skips and every 10th skip the group will do a merkin. Rotate until every man goes through the middle.

Mosey back to the flag

Main Parking Lot

Everybody line up starting at the handicap spot in the parking lot looking east. Everybody waiting in line is doing SSH. First man up will lunge walk towards the island median and stop at every parking lot line and do one squat (10 lines total). When you get to the other side, SSH until the last man finishes up.

Turn around and head back to the start. Same basic principle but this time the men in line are doing AMRAP SSH and instead of lunge walks we are bear crawling and doing a merkin at each parking line. SSH at the end until the last man finishes.

MARY: Had time for a couple of rounds of PAX choice
