The Thang:

YHC rolls into AO at 5:05 looking for other PAX. Shovel Flag planted and a quick capri lap before start time. Well as each minute clicked by it looked like I was getting closer and closer to a solo Q. Oh well, a workout is what I came for…More on this later.

No need to give disclaimer, it’s just me.

After my 10 rounds, I finished off with a mosey until the 45 minutes was complete.

What did I learn this morning? A lot. I thought so much about the other men of F3 this morning, too many names to list, but all of the HIM that have had an influence in my life. I thought about what must be going on in their lives, maybe a sick child, maybe visiting a grandparent that they are only able to see once a year. Maybe a man was able to wake up this morning and cook breakfast for his wife when he is not able to do so most other mornings throughout the year. I thought about the endless opportunities we as men have to serve others each and every day. I did not think about a single fartsacker or a man waking up and deciding, I’m just not going to workout today. Its so easy to look at the bad things in life, or to wonder why no one else is here for this “great workout” I had planned.

Today was a divine meeting planned for me and our SkyQ, our Father, our Creator, our God in Heaven. I was able to have such sweet conversation as I reflected on so many blessings in my own life. Freedoms that we are afforded, the ability to rise and be healthy enough to workout.

It’s often said that character is what you do when no one else is around or looking. Did I show an example of my character today? Maybe, but I wanted most of all to prove to myself that I was going to followup with what I said I was going to do. I signed up to Q, and that is what I did. Sometimes in life, circumstances take a different route than what we had planned, but that doesn’t mean we give up or say I quit. Today was a great day for me. Solo Q’s have happened to other men, I know it’s not me or anything personal, F3 is more than a workout and today it was just what I needed. SYITG.
