With #ElevationMonday on an extended hiatus due to COVID-19, YHC was excited to relaunch last week … and then the city set a curfew extending until 0600 Monday morning.  Good things come to those who wait I guess… I’ll let the PAX decide.

1 minute warning and disclaimer

COP
The COP doesn’t always happen at #ElevationMonday as we tend to want to get moving right away, but I thought I’d give something a shot today.  Downloaded a Tabata timer and opted for 30 seconds of SSH followed by 30 seconds of Overhead Ruck hold for rest.  5 rounds of this and the sweat was starting to form.

The THANG
4 PAX in attendance worked out perfectly to space out on the bleachers – everyone get their own set of stairs.

4 rounds of stairs with 10 Squats at the bottom after each:
1. Single step
2. Skip a step
3. Skip a step and add a Squat
4. Overhead ruck hold up and back down

With our legs thoroughly smoked, YHC asked Hoser to set the pace for a 1 lap ruck.  Fast, slow, whatever.  YHC had no motives here although some mumblechatter ensued about a possible penalty for going too slow.  The lap was finished at a good mid-pace and PAX lined up on the goal line (once we deciphered all of the lines on the beautiful Doug Shaw Memorial Field).

Next excercise:
Lunge walk to the 50 yd line.  Stop at the 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 yd lines for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 Mountain Climbers (single count)
Bear Crawl back to the goal line again stopping at the 40, 30, 20, 10 for Mountain Climbers

Bling’s turn to lead a ruck lap.  Wanting to make us all better (and show up Hoser), he called for a mosey along the length of the far bleachers.

Back to the bleachers for a rinse and repeat:
4 rounds of stairs with 10 Squats at the bottom after each:
1. Single step
2. Skip a step
3. Skip a step and add a Squat
4. Overhead ruck hold up and back down

Lombardi’s turn to lead a ruck lap.  Again, a little one-upmanship to #getbetter led to a mosey along the length of both sets of bleachers.

Lining back up on the goal line, YHC called for rucks down.

Similar to the previous trip to the field, PAX were instructed to Toy Soldier to the 50 yd line.  Stop at the 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 yd lines for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 Merkins.  As Lombardi pointed out, YHC underestimated this a bit.  By the 30 yd line everyone was modifying Merkins to CDDs.  Well, except for Hoser, who modified to standing still (done with perfect form!)

One last trip to the bleachers (no rucks) for an up-over-down up-over-down.

YHC’s turn to lead a lap.  Not to be outdone, YHC called for a full mosey lap (no rucks).  That was a terrible idea.
