The Thang:

The night before a beatdown the wheels start turning in my mind to formulate a beatdown. As ususal the ideas come to me loosely. I get the big picture and usually don’t sweat the details. In retrospect I consider myself more of a Beatdown Artist as opposed to a Beatdown Technician.  My big idea for today’s beatdown was to run off campus of the AO and the 2nd idea was to set up some cones. The rest of the the workout would be inspired by the PAX, the weather, & the Mumble Chatter. So I arrived at the AO and set up 10 cones  about 20 -25 yards apart along the front and large parking lots, these would be utilized during the 2nd half of the beatdown in what fashion I still had no idea. Either way the cones were there, and they would get the PAX chattering. Rousey left me know that he would be posting at Warthog this morning, so running was definately a possibility for the BombSquad PAX! The 1st to arrive was Sunshine and the other PAX kept streaming in until we had double digits. PAX were coming in from far and wide, Beaker & Cubby from TimeShare; Goldberg from the Republic; Skidmark, Beef Steak, Flyover, El Red Cardo, Vitamin D, & Buffett representing The Village/BombSquad. Eleven Strong!!

Writers Note: Buffet (#fashionista) came rolling in wearing some flashy swim trucks. Everyone was impressed and the burning question (at least on some of the PAX’s mind) was “mesh or no mesh?”  To which Buffett sharply replied, “No mesh, I’m not 5  years old any more!” The conversation quickly spiraled out of control until some one asked, ” What happens when you  “2” in the pool??” Deeper and deeper the conversation spiralled until YHC anounced the One Minute Warning (#savedbythebell).

The THANG:

Run West Young Man: Single file run out of AO onto Turnberry Park running path heading west along Carolina Forest Blvd (High Visibility) with periodic stops to Circle Up and do Burpees. 1st Circle Up – 5 Burpees OYO; Continue running . .  .2nd Circle – 10 Burpees OYO; Continue Running  . . .3rd Circle 15 Burpees OYO. At this point the PAX were approximately 1/2 mile from AO. At Walker Woods all PAX lined up shoulder to shoulder facing CF Blvd & YHC placed 2 cones approximately 15 yard in front of them.

Dora: Partner up with the man to your left. 11th PAX (YHC) would be a floater and rotate through each group. PAX 1 does an exercise AMRAP while PAX 2 bearcrawls to cone & moseys back to start. Flap Jack.

Exercise #1 – 100 Merkins

Exercise #2 – 200 BBS

Exercise #3 – 300 Squats

Head East for the Beasts: Single File run back towards the AO along running path with periodic stops for additional Circle Ups of Burpees. 1st Circle Up – 5 Burpees OYO; Continue running . .  .2nd Circle – 10 Burpees OYO; Continue Running  . . .3rd Circle 5 Burpees OYO . . .continue running until we reach the AO. Line up shoulder to shoulder facing all those beautiful cones which were laid out by YHC before the beatdown began! “Hey that’s alot of cones!!”

2X10’s: At the Starting line PAX # 1 calls out & leads an exercise of his choice . . . run/mosey to next cone PAX #2 calls out  & leads exercise of his choice . . .etc., etc! Caveat #1 . . . 1st exercise is a 2 reps , 2nd exercise is a 4 reps, 3rd exercise is a 6 reps . . . all the way up to 22 reps for exercise called out by PAX#11 . . .Caveat #2 – Once an exercise is called out it continues to be called out by that PAX and we build the number of exercises done at each cone!
