The Thang:

AO: Warthog

Conditions: 68 deg and awesome for the middle of January

Honestly, I didn’t really look at the sports schedule when I put my name down to Q at WH at the end of December… so seeing that I was on Q the morning after the National Championship game (with Clemson playing no less) I was a little uncertain about how the numbers would turn out. But WH always seems to deliver great numbers. Showed up to the AO around 0505 and apparently I was already late as Karma, Snips, Jingles, Backdraft, Wolverine, Billboard, and Disconnect were already huddled up talking about last night’s game. The flag was already planted, so I figured that some of the guys were pre-running as usual. Didn’t have to wait much longer as Hamburglar emerged from the super gloom solo (where was Headgear? Franklin?). Apparently Headgear had to make a pitstop at the house and Franklin must’ve been throwing a heck of watch party as his car rolled up with about 2 or 3 min to go, but the man still made it!

Mosey to the Bridge, up and over Hamburglar Hill

TIGER: Since I wasn’t about to stay up all night to see who won the game (its not like my team was playing)… decided it was easiest to just go with TIGER as thats the mascot for both teams. For those that are new.. its pretty easy, we would mosey around the AO and do the exercise(s) listed below spelling out “TIGER”. (Had to delve deep into the F3 Exicon for a couple of these)

T: Tony Hawk Burpees x 10 – starts out as a regular burpee, but do a 360 jump in the air each time (Note to self: never do more than 10 of these as dizziness is all but guaranteed)

I: Indian Run/Inch Worm Merkins x 15 – We then started out on an indian run around the lake and looking back, I prob shouldve given some more time before we started (but hindsight is always 20/20). We probably hadn’t gone more than 50 feet when Jingles runs past me, trips, falls, somehow tucks in midair, rolls along the ground, pops right up, and continues to the front of the line. Not gonna lie fellas, that was the most impressive athletic feat of the morning right there, dude didnt skip a beat. #Respect. We stopped about every 0.25 miles and did 15 inch worm merkins OYO. Finished up on the other side of the main bridge.

G: Guantanamo x 2 rounds – Pax in a circle on their backs heels up. First pax jumps up and pushes the feet down of every man around the circle as they fight to keep their legs off the ground. Rinse and repeat until every man has gone around the circle.

E: Elevens – I couldn’t hit up WH without doing some elevens over the bridge. LBC and merkins

R: Range Rovers – I had to make this one up as I wasn’t happy with the R exercises in the exicon. Basically did this like F3 Nascar where PAX #1 is the Pace Car and calls out an exercise for all other PAX to do AMRAP as Pace Car Races (runs) around perimeter of Large Parking Lot. But instead of running around the parking lot, I took it offroad and we went up and over Hamburglar Hill (hence the new name, Range Rovers). Honestly there were too many guys to remember all of the exercises, but just know that Backdraft was the jerk that called Burpees and then Hamburglar was the second jerk that called burpees.
